Election Day is November 13, 2024.
The Regular Poll will be held at the Leader Community Hall and will be open at 9:00 am and close at 8:00 pm.
An Advance Poll will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Town of Leader Office Complex.
Who Can Vote?
You are eligible to vote if you meet the following criteria as of November 13, 2024:
- you are a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age one the day of the election;
- you have lived in Saskatchewan for at least six (6) consecutive months; and
- you are resident of Leader or you have owned assessable land within the town for at least three (3) consecutive months.
What Do I Need to Vote?
When you go to vote, you must bring either:
- a government-issued photo ID that shows your name and address; or
- two pieces of government-issued ID (one that shows your name and another that shows your name and address)
Acceptable forms of identification include those issued by the Government of Canada, the Government of Saskatchewan, a municipality or a government agency.
Because the Town of Leader does not maintain a voters list, all eligible voters are required to fill out a registration form, which will be available at the polling station.
How Do I Vote?
Once you have filled out the Voter Registration Form, a Poll Clerk will hand you a voting ballot. You will proceed to the private voting section and place an “X” in the circles beside the candidates name you wish to vote for.
You may select only one name for Mayor and up to 6 names for Councillors. There is not a minimum number of candidates that you must select.
After making your selection fold the ballot, as it was when handed to you, and bring it to the Poll Clerk, who will then place the ballot in the secure ballot box.
The Returning Officer, Deputy Returning Officer, and Poll Clerk will be happy to assist you through this process.
