Setting Up Your Account
When renting/purchasing a home or business in Leader, it is up to the new occupant to set up a water account at the Town of Leader Office, 151 – 1st Street West.

Billing
Utility bills are mailed/emailed out every two months. Payment for a utility service is due upon receipt and is considered past due 30 days after the billing date. Overdue balances will have 2% interest charged on the balance owing at the end of each month.
The Town of Leader reads water meters in April and October each year. The base usage rate is 3,000 gallons per month. Upon reading the meter, any amounts over the base usage will be billed out using the tiered rates as set out in the Water & Sewer Charges Bylaw.

*Please note that is it ultimately the responsibility of the property owner to ensure that all utility accounts with the Town of Leader are kept up to date and in good standing. Rental property owners should be aware of this condition as terminated utility accounts with outstanding balances may be added to the tax roll with respect to the parcel to which the utility services are provided.
Customer Information
The Town of Leader depends on all utility customers to ensure that their current phone number is on file with their water account.
In the event of a waterline break, the primary account holder will be contacted by the Town Office to notify in the event of a possible disruption of service.
If you have recently changed your phone number, cancelled your land line, or don’t know whether your account information is currently up to date, please contact the Town Office to speak with an Administration Staff member.
